舒拉寶娃最受坊間關注的，除了亮麗外表，自然是她和勁敵莎蓮娜威廉絲（細威）的恩怨。事實上，舒拉寶娃聲名鵲起，也是始自2004年溫布頓決賽以17歲之齡擊敗當時如日方中的細威開始。在自傳中，舒拉寶娃說彼此關係不和，可能始自那次決賽後誤闖更衣室看到對方哭泣。是耶非耶，看來只得兩位主角最清楚。
舒拉寶娃接受訪問時也說，她與細威的過去只是自傳的一小部分，盼讀者也可留意她述說自己如何一路走來。的確，一個生長在俄國切爾諾貝爾附近，半句英語也不懂的小女孩，忽爾遠赴美國佛羅里達開闖前路，艱辛不難想象。這位年過三十的一代網球天后，值得球迷留意的，確實不只是花邊新聞。

During her 15-month ban, Sharapova wrote her autobiography － Unstoppable: My Life So Far. This tennis star is best remembered for her beautiful looks and her famous feud with long-time rival Serena Williams. Sharapova first earned fame at 17 by defeating the defending champion Serena Williams at Wimbledon in 2004. Sharapova writes in her autobiography that she saw Williams sobbing in the locker room after the match and this was probably what set off their frigid relationship.
In the book, Sharapova gives a much wider background on how she became a professional tennis player. Indeed, the road has not been easy for this Russian girl who left her home for an unknown future in English-speaking Florida. The story of this tennis star includes a lot more than just titillating gossip.
